China Pharmacy is a comprehensive academic journal of pharmacy at the national level published both in China and globally, which is supervised by the National Health Commission of the People's Republic of China and operated by the Chinese Hospital Association and Chongqing University Cancer Hospital. The journal serves as a high-quality academic platform for pharmacy professionals working in hospital pharmacy departments as well as those engaged in the research & development, production, operation and clinical application of medicines and pharmaceutical management personnel. It has broad and stable authorship and readership among hospitals at all levels, medical and pharmaceutical universities, and medical research institutions across China, and has a wide influence in the industry.

Since its establishment in January 1990, China Pharmacy has always upheld the aims of "Building a Famous Brand in China's Journal Industry and Serving as a Guide for Medicine and Health". The journal is currently published semi-monthly and printed in full color. Main columns considered for publication include, but are not limited to:

l  Guidelines & Consensus (relevant industry guidelines, consensus statements, standards, and related interpretations);

l  Pharmaceutical Management (hospital pharmacy management such as pharmacy management and pharmaceutical work models, research on healthcare policies/laws/regulations, and pharmacist team building);

l  Pharmacoeconomics (economic research, studies related to medical insurance);

l  Drugs and Clinical Practice (drug efficacy and safety, clinical pharmacology, precision medicine, therapeutic drug monitoring, pharmacovigilance, and adverse reactions, etc.);

l  Intelligent Pharmacy (research combining AI tools, big data analysis, and other AI-driven algorithms with pharmacy);

l  Evidence-based Pharmacy (evidence-based medication decision-making based on systematic reviews, meta-analyses, real-world studies, etc.);

In the 2024 Edition of Annual Report for Chinese Academic Journal Impact Factors (Natural Science) released by Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), it ranked first among pharmacy journals again (No.1 in Q 1), and ranked first among 65 academic journals of pharmacy in terms of Clout Index (CI).

China Pharmacy is indexed in “Journal Selected for the Phase Ⅱ of the Excellence Action Plan for China STM Journals”, “Chinese Core Journals”, “Chinese Core Journals of Science and Technology”, “Source Journals for Chinese Scientific and Technical Papers and Citations”, “Scien-tech Periodical for Statistics Source in China”, “RCCSE Chinese Core Academic Journals”,“Chinese Periodicals with Matrix Double-Effect”,  “Source Journals for Annual Report for Chinese Academic Journal Impact Factors” and “Source Journals for China Open Access Archives”. It had been included in “Source Journals for Chinese Science Citation Database” during 2009-2014 and “Chinese Medical Current Content”, “Chinese Medical Citation Index”, “Chinese Journal Full-text Database”, “China Biology Medicine disc”, “World Journal Clout Index Report (2020 STM)”, “Scopus”,“Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ)”,“Chemical Abstracts (CA)”, “Abstract Journal (AJ)”, “International Pharmaceutical Abstracts (IPA)”, “Western Pacific Region Index Medicus (WPRIM)”, “Ulrich's Periodicals Directory (UPD)”, “Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST)”, etc. The journal also ranked 175th out of 2126 journals in the 2023 edition of "Comprehensive Evaluation Score Rankings of Chinese Science and Technology Core Journals (Natural Science)". Besides, it has received numerous honors, including the First Prize for Excellent Journals awarded by Ministry of Public Health and Chongqing Municipal Government, the First Prize for Excellent Journals of the National Health and Family Planning Commission and the First Publication Award of Chongqing Municipal Government, and the Third China National Periodical Award, “2018 China's Most Beautiful Medical and Health Journal Prize”, “Chongqing Brand Periodicals for the Seventieth Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China”, “2020 Chongqing Most Beautiful Journal Award”, etc. The journal was selected for the "Excellent Periodical Exhibition for Seventieth Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China" at 2019 Beijing International Book Fair. The journal has been consistently rated as a first-class periodical in the comprehensive quality assessment of periodicals in Chongqing and recognized an excellent periodical in the quality assessment of editing and proofreading of Chongqing periodicals, and has been supported by the special publishing funds of Chongqing from 2014 to 2023.
