Editorial Board Charter for China Pharmacy

(Revised Edition, December 2023)

Chapter 1 General Provisions

Article 1 This Charter is formulated to further strengthen the work of the Editorial Board and give full play to its role.

Article 2 The Editorial Board serves as the academic guiding institution of China Pharmacy.

Chapter 2 Functions of the Editorial Board 

Article 3 Revise the aims and formulate the development plan of this journal.

Article 4 Review the annual work summary and next year’s work plan during the term of office; review and approve other major matters of this journal.

Article 5 Execute implementation opinions on editing and publishing of this journal.  

Article 6 Supervise and guide the Editorial Office of this journal.

Article 7 Actively participate in and support relevant activities of this journal.

Chapter 3 Qualifications, Rights, Obligations, and Responsibilities of Editorial Board Members

Article 8 Qualifications of Editorial Board Members

1. Academicians, professors, research fellows, senior engineers, professional personnel, and administrative personnel with influence in the medical, pharmaceutical and health field.

2. Familiar with the development trends of this industry and have deep expertise in their respective professions.

3. Professional personnel should have a professional title of associate professor or above, a bachelor’s degree or above, and strong academic influence in their professional field.

4. Care about the development of this journal and proactively participate in relevant activities of this journal.

5. Willing to undertake the obligations and responsibilities of an editorial board member.

6. Adhere to principles, have decent conduct, be conscientious and responsible, and be fair and integrated.

7. Generally under the age of 60, with the possibility of extension for exceptionally outstanding individuals due to work needs.

8. Cooperate with the procedures for appointing editorial board members and submit complete personal information to this journal.

Article 9 Rights of Editorial Board Members

1. The right to participate in various activities of the Editorial Board.

2.  The right to supervise, recommend, and criticize the work of the Editorial Board.

3. The right to participate in discussions and voting on major matters of the Editorial Board.

4. The right to participate in academic activities including reviewing and finalizing manuscripts for this journal.

5. Receive one copy of the journal regularly, as well as other relevant materials sent irregularly.

6. Receive an appointment letter from this journal in the year of becoming an editorial board member.

7.  The list of editorial board members will be published in the first issue of this journal each year.

Article 10 Obligations and Responsibilities of Editorial Board Members

1. Strictly implement the resolutions passed by the Editorial Board.

2. Write and recommend papers with fund projects at the provincial level or the National Natural Science Foundation, with no less than one paper per year.

3. Proactively fulfill the obligation of manuscript review, provide objective, fair, and detailed professional review opinions, and complete the review on time and with good quality, without being hasty, backlogged, or delayed.

4. Attend the annual plenary meeting of the Editorial Board and at least one nationwide academic seminar hosted by this journal each year.

5. Actively promote and collectively subscribe to this journal, with no less than one set of collective subscriptions each year (no less than two sets for executive editorial board members and above).

6. Provide periodic written or verbal opinions and suggestions on the editing, publishing, and other work of this journal.

Chapter 4 Organization

Article 11 The plenary meeting of the Editorial Board is the body of the Editorial Board. The plenary meeting of the Editorial Board shall be held annually in principle.

Article 12 Functions of the Plenary Meeting of the Editorial Board

1. Listen to and review the annual work summary and next year’s work plan.

2. Discuss and approve major matters regarding this journal.

3. Appoint, supplement, adjust, or dismiss members of the Editorial Board.

4. Other matters.

Article 13 The term of office for editorial board members is 4 years (the term of the 9th Editorial Board is from 2024 to 2027), and reappointment can be made based on performance.

Article 14 The Editorial Board consists of 1 Chairman, 1 Executive Vice Chairman, 1-3 Vice Chairmen, 1 Editor-in-Chief, 1-2 Deputy Editor-in-Chief, 2 Chief Editors (responsible for the first and second half-monthly issues respectively), 16-20 Deputy Chief Editors, 40-50 Executive Editorial Board Members, and 10-20 Senior Editorial Board Members.

Article 15 The Executive Editorial Board is composed of the Chairman, (Executive) Vice Chairmen, (Deputy) Editors-in-Chief, (Deputy) Chief Editors, and Executive Editorial Board Members.

Article 16 The selection of editorial board members is mainly based on recommendations from relevant public institutions, with self-recommendation as a supplementary method, and comprehensive selection. Editorial board members are subject to performance assessment during the term of office, with dynamic adjustments, and those who fail to meet the requirements will be dismissed in advance.

Article 17 The Editorial Board is responsible for guiding and supervising the editing and publishing of the journal; the Editorial Office of this journal is the specific acting department of the Editorial Board.

Chapter 5 Supplementary Provisions

Article 18 This Charter was revised on December 29, 2023, and will be implemented as of January 1, 2024.
