OBJECTIVE： To establish pharmacist workstation that can realize the informatization and intellectualization of pharmaceutical care， and to promote the standardization of the whole process of pharmaceutical work and the improvement of service quality. METHODS： The specific function modules of pharmacist workstation developed by our hospital were introduced. The effects of pharmacist workstation were evaluated by comparing the quality and efficiency of pharmaceutical work within a year before and after the application of the workstation. RESULTS： The designation of pharmacist workstation based on electronic medical record of our hospital， its modules included medication knowledge database， prescription review， ADR management， medication integration， consultation management， quality control， performance， etc. The workstation was compatible with HIS， it could intervent the operation of medical order deeply. The application of the pharmacist workstation has realized effective control of the patient’s medication information. The medical order has reviewed fully. The qualified rate of the prescription increased by 2.26％ （97.10％ vs. 99.30％）； success rate of unreasonable medical order intervention increased by 18.61％ （62.34％ vs. 80.95％）； drug related ADR events reduced by 13.54％ （635 vs. 549 pieces）. The paper-free pharmaceutical consultation， blood concentration monitoring and gene detection report were realized， and the writing time of medication guide sheet was shortened significantly （20.34 min vs. 8.21 min， n＝100）. CONCLUSIONS： The application of pharmacist workstation has promoted the informatization and standardization of pharmacists’ work， and provides an efficient and convenient tool for medication review， intervention， pharmaceutical care， pharmaceutical management， etc.
