OBJECTIVE: To optimize the mode and content of community pharmaceutical care (CPC), and to provide reference for playing the role of community pharmacists in the family doctor team. METHODS: A questionnaire was designed to investigate and analyze the family doctors team members (the ratio of family doctor-family nurse-public health personnel 3 ∶ 3 ∶ 1) of 8 Community Health Care Centre (CHCC) in Hongkou district of Shanghai. The cognition, evaluation and demand of family doctor team members to CPC were investigated. RESULTS: A total of 224 valid questionnaires (induding 96 family doctors, 96 family nurses and 32 public health personnels) were collected, and with effective rate of 100%. 77 respondents (34.4%) “knew” CPC; 157 respondents (70.1%) were “very eager” to get help and support for rational use of drugs. There was different in the understanding channels of 3 kinds of family doctors team members to CPC, the degree of community pharmacists mastering clinical knowledge, degree of adoption of community pharmacists’ recommendations for treatment planning formulation. CONCLUSIONS: The members of the family doctor team have certain knowledge of CPC and have high demands for it. The structure of the family doctor team should be properly adjusted to let community pharmacists participate in the medical treatment of family doctors. At same time, it is necessary to further strengthen the training of community pharmacists, optimize knowledge structure and optimize service capabilities so as to provide high quality CPC and meet the demand of different family doctor team members.
