OBJECTIVE: To investigate the drug combination of clopidogrel in outpatient prescriptions, and to provide reference and evidence for rational drug use in clinic. METHODS: The outpatient prescriptions of clopidogrel were collected from Hebei Provincial People’s Hospital during Jan.1st-Feb.28th in 2017. The prescriptions of clopidogrel drug combination were collated and counted. Based on the respective of CYP450 enzyme (CYP3A4, CYP2C19), drugs with potential drug interaction with clopidogrel in prescriptions were analyzed. RESULTS: There were 1 757 outpatient prescriptions of clopidogrel, involving 1 732 prescriptions of drug combination. There were 871 prescriptions of the potential metabolizing drug-drug interaction, mainly involving proton pump inhibitors (inhibiting the activity of CYP2C19) and statins (inhibiting the activity of CYP3A4). CONCLUSIONS: Clopidogrel is commonly used in combination with other drugs in clinical practice, and there is a potential metabolic drug interaction.
