OBJECTIVE: To optimize the extraction technology for Phyllanthus emblica formula granules. METHODS: Using the comprehensive evaluation result of the content of gallic acid and paste rate as index, water amount, extraction times, extracting time as factors, orthogonal test was designed to optimize the extraction conditions of P. emblica formula granules. Validation test was conducted. RESULTS: The optimal extraction technology of P. emblica formula granule was as follows as 12-fold water, extracting for 2 times, 1 hour each time. The validation results showed that the average paste rate was 30.44% (RSD=2.07%, n=3), and the average content of gallic acid was 8.12% (RSD=0.86%, n=3). CONCLUSIONS: The optimized extraction technology is stable and can provide the basis for standardized production technology of P. emblica formula granule.
