OBJECTIVE: To optimize SFE-CO2 extraction technology of volatile oil from Citrisarcodactylis fructus. METHODS: Using the yield of volatile oil as index, the influences of extraction temperature, extraction pressure, CO2 flow, extraction time, acquisition pressure and acquisition temperature on the yield of volatile oil were investigated. Moreover, 4 significant factors, such as extraction temperature, extraction pressure, CO2 flow and extraction time, were selected; the parameters of SFE-CO2 extraction technology were optimized by Box-Behnken design-response surface methodology. RESULTS: The results showed that the highest extraction rate could be obtained with extraction temperature at 67 ℃, extraction pressure at 57 MPa, CO2 flow at 22 L/h and extraction time for 4 h. The highest extraction rate was 1.892%(n=3), and the relative error between it and predicted value (1.937%) was 2.32%. CONCLUSIONS: Optimized SFE-CO2 extraction technology for volatile oil from C. fructus is reasonable and feasible.
