OBJECTIVE： To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of Runfei cream combined with levofloxacin in the treatment of chronic bronchitis. METHODS： Data of 154 patients with chronic bronchitis were retrospectively collected and divided into observation group （78 cases） and control group （76 cases）. Control group orally received Levofloxacin tablet， 0.2 g， bid+ambroxol hydrochloride oral solution 10 ml，bid. Observation group received Levofloxacin tablet， 0.2 g， bid+Runfei cream 15 g with warm water， tid. All patients stopped taking drugs after 7 d of Levofloxacin tablet， observation group continued to take Runfei cream for 7 d and control group continued to take ambroxol hydrochloride oral solution for 7 d with the same dose . Clinical efficacy， duration of clinical symptoms （duration of fever，cough，expectoration，asthma）and the incidence of adverse reactions in 2 groups were compared.The courses of 2 groups were 14 d.RESULTS： The total effective rate in observation group was significantly higher than control group， cough and expectoration time and asthma time were significantly lower than control group， with significant differences （P＜0.05）； and there was no significant difference in the duration of fever and the incidence of adverse reactions （P＞0.05）. CONCLUSIONS： Levofloxacin combined with Runfei cream has good efficacy in the treatment of chronic bronchitis， it can shorten duration of clinical symptoms， and do not increase the incidence of adverse reactions.
