OBJECTIVE： To provide reference for rational drug use in children with hand-foot-and-mouth disease. METHODS： 500 prescriptions selected randomly， which were diagnosed with hand-foot-and-mouth disease in infectious disease outpatient department our hospital from Jan. to Jun. in 2015， and the drug use of them were analyzed statistically. RESULTS： The number of patients below three years of age was the largest （58.2％）. Antibacterial drugs were used in 135 prescriptions with utilization ratio of 27.0％. Hand-foot-and-mouth disease in our hospital was mainly treated by antiviral drug； the antiviral drugs included ribavirin， Xiyanping and Reduning mainly. Injection and oral antibacterial drugs were mainly the third generation cephalosporins. CONCLUSIONS： The selection of drugs for hand-foot-and-mouth disease is rational basically in our hospital. But because of the young age and high drug response of children with hand-foot-mouth disease， it should be paid attention and resolved to strengthen rational use of antibacterial drugs and glucocorticoid agents in treating hand-foot-and-mouth disease.
