OBJECTIVE： To explore the features and role of clinical pharmacists involved in consultation cases， and to improve the consultation level of clinical pharmacist. METHODS： A total of 358 clinical pharmacy consultation cases from Jan. 2008 to Sept. 2015 were retrieved from medical case retrieval system and analyzed in consultation department， consultation purpose， characteristics of the cases involved in anti infection， drug use of primary therapy plan， consultation advice adoption， following therapeutic efficacy， etc. RESULTS： Of 358 consultation cases， consultation application was mainly from ICU （92 cases， 25.7％）； consultation purpose was mainly assisting physicians to formulate anti-infective plan （315 cases， 88.0％）； main infection site was pulmonary infection （174 cases， 55.2％）； 213 cases of irrational drug use were found during consultation （59.5％）； consultation advices were adopted totally in 236 cases， partially in 89 cases but not adopted in 33 cases. CONCLUSIONS： Clinical pharmacists participate in consultation， provide professional guarantee and play active role in formulating reasonable therapy plan， motivating optimal therapeutic efficacy， avoiding and reducing ADR， etc.
